Bidspirit auction | A Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain

A Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Bowl, Decorated with Lotus and Herons, 19th/20th Century - Chinese Famille Rose Style, Qing Dynasty or later (19th/20th Century). This deep porcelain bowl is decorated with polychrome overglaze enamels in the characteristic Famille Rose palette against a pale celadon or light blue/green ground. The decoration covers both the interior and exterior surfaces, depicting a detailed pond scene (Hehua) featuring large lotus leaves, pink lotus flowers, and pink wading birds (herons or egrets) nestled among the foliage. Butterflies are also incorporated into the design. The bowl features a foot-ring. The recessed base bears indistinct, faint orange/red character marks, likely an apocryphal reign mark associated with the Qianlong period (1736-1795).
