A Meiji Period Satsuma Ware Cobalt Blue and Gilt Vase Bearing Signature of Kusunoki - Satsuma Ware, Meiji Period (1868-1912). A finely decorated ceramic vase of ovoid form, featuring a central reserve panel set against registers of rich cobalt blue (ruri-yu) glaze. The blue sections are extensively decorated in gold gilt (kinran-de) with intricate floral and geometric patterns. The central reserve features a detailed genre scene (fūzokuga) painted in overglaze polychrome enamels on a finely crackled cream ground. The scene depicts numerous figures, including beautiful women (bijin) and children, positioned beneath flowering cherry (sakura) and wisteria (fuji) trees, with distant architectural elements and a view of Mount Fuji (Fuji-san). The base bears an overglaze iron-red painted mark (mei) consisting of the character 楠 (Kusunoki) and a stylized mark below. No custom storage box (tomobako) is present.
