A Collection of 44 Pieces of Adams Real English Ironstone 'English Scenic' Green Transferware - A large collection of 44 pieces of Real English Ironstone tableware manufactured by Adams, a member of the Wedgwood Group, in the 'English Scenic' pattern. The collection features dense green transferware depicting a romanticized landscape and architectural scene on a white ceramic body. Many forms are accented by scalloped or ruffled rims, characteristic of the pattern. The set comprises one covered tureen (2 pieces: bowl and lid), one gravy boat with its associated underplate (2 pieces), one large serving bowl, one oval serving dish, ten dinner plates, ten deep soup or pasta bowls, eight small bowls, and ten side plates. A visible backstamp identifies the items as ”REAL ENGLISH IRONSTONE ADAMS, ” noting the decoration is ”completely underglass” and ”Acid and detergent proof.”
