Arieh Zarfati (Israeli - Bulgarian, b. 1935) - Abstract landscape – Upper Galilee.. Oil on canvas. Hand signed. Arieh Zarfati, Israeli painter born in Bulgaria, immigrated to Israel after the establishment of the state and joined the artists’ community in Safed, where he lived and worked. He studied painting in Bulgaria and later at the Avni Institute in Tel Aviv. His works often depict Safed’s landscapes and its picturesque alleys.
