Classical Carved Mahogany Work Table - American, circa 1835-1850, a fine classical period carved mahogany work table, the rectangular top with drop leaves over a case fitted with three drawers having turned wooden pulls, raised on a boldly turned and carved pedestal support. The pedestal is richly ornamented with acanthus carving and rests on a quadriform base with scrolled and paw-carved feet. Work tables were a staple of pre-civil war parlors and remain desirable examples of early 19th-century American craftsmanship. 10 1/2 in H, 39 in. W, 16 in. D
