Bidspirit auction | Set of Three American Brilliant

Set of Three American Brilliant Period Cut Glass Mantle Lusters - A fine matched set of three American Brilliant Period cut glass mantle lusters, consisting of a central large luster flanked by two smaller companions. Each features deeply wheel-cut geometric patterns, including hobstars, fans, and cross-hatching, with scalloped rims and faceted stems. The lusters are hung with faceted spear prisms of exceptional clarity, designed to catch and refract light for a dazzling effect. The larger centerpiece retains its original heavy circular base and measures approx. 12 inches high, while the two smaller side lusters measure approx. 9 inches high. This tiered arrangement was traditionally displayed on mantles or sideboards to reflect candlelight and lamp light, a hallmark of late Victorian and early Edwardian interiors. The brilliant cut patterns and fine prisms are strongly reminiscent of the work of Pairpoint Manufacturing Co. (New Bedford, Massachusetts) and Dorflinger (White Mills, Pennsylvania), both leading producers of high-quality American cut glass during the period. Circa 1885-1890; Center Luster: 11 in. H; 10 in. W/Diameter; Small Luster: 6 in. H; 5 in. Diameter
