Pair of Old Pairs Porcelain Vases, Mid 19th Century - A striking pair of Old Paris porcelain vases, each richly decorated with gilt highlights and elaborate applied ornament. The flared, reticulated rims are trimmed in gold, cascading into floral and scroll work relief along the sides with applied gilt blossoms. The front reserves are finely hand-painted with romantic figural scenes, a lady in bright cosutme on one vase and a gentleman in rich attire on the other, both set against soft landscape grounds. Gilt decoration is lavisly applied throughout, accenting the bases, handles, and raised relief details, exemplifying the ornate aestehtic associated with Paris porcelain.
