Belter Laminated Rosewood “Dish Back” Side, c. 1860-1870 - A fine laminated rosewood side chair attributed to John Henry Belter, New York, in the highly desirable “Dish Back” form. The deeply rounded laminated crest and pronounced curvature create the distinctive dished profile for which Belter was celebrated. Retains original laminated rosewood frame with excellent Rococo Revival contours and bold serpentine legs. Upholstered in patterned cream fabric.
