John Henry Belter Laminated Rosewood Chair, “Henry Clay” Pattern, c. 1850-1860 - A Victorian laminated rosewood armchair attributed to John Henry Belter, New York, in the “Henry Clay” pattern. The balloon-back frame with carved serpentine crest and flowing lines encloses a tufted upholstered back panel, with scrolled arms above a serpentine upholstered seat. Raised on cabriole legs terminating in scroll toes. Upholstered in cream patterned fabric.
