Pair of Victorian Balloon-Back ”Rosalie with Grapes” Pattern Side Chairs, J.H. Belter - Superb pair of Rococo Revival laminated rosewood side chairs in the celebrated ”Rosalie with Grapes” pattern, attributed to John Henry Belter, New York. Each chair features a finely carved crested back with floral and foliate motifs above a balloon-shaped back, serpentine seat rail, and cabriole legs terminating in carved feet. Upholstered in a period-appropriate deep red striped fabric that compliments the rich patina of the rosewood frames.
