Period Federal Mahogany Dressing Chest with Mirror, Early 19th Century - Exceptional Federal period mahogany mirrored dressing chest, richly veneered and surmounted by a rectangular mirror supported by bold carved dophin arms with finely detailed scales, foliate scrolls, and rosettes. The case features a top fitted with a narrow drawer section above three long graduated drawers, each with figured mahogany veneer and fitted with brass ring pulls. The corners are flanked by carved columns with acanthus-leaf detailing, all raised on paw feet with additional foliate carving. Expected age-related veneer crackling and some sporadic veneer loss. 71 in. H, 44 in. W, 21 in. D
