Early Chippendale Style Blockfront Chest-on-Chest - A monumental early 19th-century Chippendale style blockfront chest-on-chest in mahogany, the broken arch pediment surmounted by turned flame finials above three carved shell panels. The upper case fitted with four graduated drawers, the lower section with four full drawers, all featuring bold blockfront shaping and brass hardware. Raised on carved ball-and-claw feet with scrolled returns. Early revival interpretation produced when American cabinetmakers looked back to Colonial and Chippendale precedents for inspiration. Its size, strong proportions, and depply carved shells give it great presence, making it an impressive statement piece for collectors and decorators alike. 90 in. H, 41 in. W, 22 in. D
