French Gilt Bronze and Marble Mantel Clock, 19th Century - Elegant French gilt bronze mantel clock surmounted by a finely cast allegorical figure of a seated classical maiden in flowing robes, resting against a lyre and scrolls. The case features ornate Rococo scrollwork and foliate mounts, all highlighted in bright gilt, raised on scrolled feet. The clock face is set within a drum case with Roman numeral dial, framed by a beaded bezel. The body rests on a stepped white marble plinth accented with additional gilt mounts.
