Aesthetic Movement Ebonized Cabinet Attr. Kimball and Cabus - Striking late 19th century Aesthetic Movement cabinet, ebonized and highlighted with painted decoration and elaborate brass strapwork mounts. The upper section features two paneled doors with finely detailed painted designs, one depicting paired doves, the other heraldic-style figures, both within geometric borders. Below, the lower cabinet repeats the theme with matching painted panels, flanking an open center shelf. The case is surmounted by a pierced gallery and rests on shaped bracket feet connected by a platform base. With its bold contrast of ebonized ground and painted accents, this cabinet reflects the Anglo-Japanese and Aesthetic style popular in the late Victorian period. Ca. 1875-1890. Attributed to Kimball and Cabus. 60 in. H, 43 in. W, 15.5 in. D
