Chinese Gilt and Lacquered Wood Head of Guanyin, 20th Century - Impressive carved wood head of Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, shown with serene downcast eyes and elaborate coiffure surmounted by a small seated Amitabha Buddha. The face retains areas of original gilding over red lacquer, creating a rich contrast with the dark carved hair and base adorned with low-relief lotus motifs. A visually arresting representation of spiritual calm and devotion. Approx. 13 in. H, 6½ in. W, 6 in. D. Condition: Good overall condition with expected wear to gilding and minor surface losses consistent with age and handling.
