Chinese Carved Stone Figure of Guanyin - Chinese carved gray stone sculpture depicting Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, seated in royal ease on a rock-form base. The figure is shown holding a small vessel in one hand, the other resting gracefully on her knee, wearing flowing robes with finely incised details and a serene, meditative expression. Likely early 20th century or later, in the manner of earlier Tang-style devotional carvings. 17 in. H, 12 in. W, 6 in. D Condition: Areas of chipping and losses to the back and edges, weathered surface and encrustations consistent with age and exposure; stable overall.
