Pre-Columbian-Style Seated Female Figure, Possibly Veracruz, Mexico - Impressive terracotta seated female figure with elaborate coiffure, earspools, and a string of applied modern carved bone beads draped across the torso. The figure displays a commanding presence with a broad face, open mouth revealing teeth, and carefully incised ornamentation around the arms and wrists. Surfaces exhibit rich earthen encrustations and firing variations consistent with early excavation finds from the Gulf Coast region. 13 ½ in. H, 8 in. W, 7 in.
