Pair of Continental Cobalt and Gilt Porcelain Covered Jars - Early 20th century, Continental. Pair of finely hand-painted porcelain covered jars, each with a rich cobalt blue ground, lavish raised gilt decoration, and central reserves depicting classical courting scenes in the Rococo taste. The reverse sides decorated with gilt cartouches and floral sprays. Each lid numbered “236.” 8½ in. H, 4½ in. W Condition: Light rubbing to gilt at rims and finials, minor wear to enamel consistent with age; otherwise very good, complete condition.
