Painted Pottery Figure of a Male Attendant, Possibly Chinese, Tang Style - Tall, slender pottery figure depicting a standing male attendant wearing a red-painted knee-length skirt and black cap, with traces of original white and flesh-toned pigments throughout. The figure’s arms are missing, though small apertures at the shoulders indicate they may have originally been inserted separately, consistent with Tang dynasty tomb figures. Expressive modeling of the face with delicate mustache and serene expression. Mounted standing freely. 24 in. H, 5 in. W Condition: Losses to arms and pigments, minor surface wear and encrustation consistent with age.
