Dogon Granary Door, Mali, Early 20th Century - A large carved wooden granary door from the Dogon peoples of Mali, composed of three planks secured with wooden pegs. The surface is deeply relief-carved with stylized ancestral figures, crocodiles, and symbolic geometric motifs representing fertility, protection, and community lineage. Weathered surface with rich encrusted patina from long exposure. Approx. 35 in. H, 24 in. W. Condition: Surface wear, shrinkage cracks, minor losses and old insect damage; retains fine age and ritual patina.
