Bronze Equestrian Figure, Dogon People, Mali, mid-20th century - Finely cast bronze sculpture of a mounted rider with elongated features, seated atop a stylized horse with strong angular proportions. Cast using the traditional lost-wax method (cire perdue), this piece exemplifies Dogon metalwork celebrating leadership and ancestral strength. The surface displays an aged brown-black patina with traces of oxidation and wear. Approximately 7½ in. high, 6 in. long, and 2½ in. wide. Condition: Expected surface wear and casting irregularities; minor encrustations and patina variations consistent with age and traditional technique.
