Large Carved Stone Figure of Guanyin (Bodhisattva of Compassion) - Impressive large hand-carved stone figure of Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, shown seated in dhyana pose upon a lotus pedestal. Finely carved facial features and drapery, with remnants of old polychrome and gilt surface, exhibiting a serene and contemplative presence. Likely 20th century, in the style of earlier Chinese or Southeast Asian devotional sculpture. 34 in. H, 13 in. W, 10 in. D Condition: Surface wear, losses to pigment and gilding, minor age cracks, and scattered abrasions consistent with age and exposure. Structurally sound with rich patina.
