Large Terracotta Bowl, West Africa, Early to Mid-20th Century - A hand-formed terracotta bowl with flared sides and wide rounded rim, finished in natural reddish earthen tones with faint concentric banding. The surface exhibits a well-aged patina with traces of mineral deposits and use, suggesting traditional domestic or ritual function. Such vessels were often used for food preparation, ceremonial offerings, or libations across various regions of West Africa. 13 ¼ in. diameter × 4 ¾ in. H Condition: Surface wear, mineral accretions, and scattered abrasions consistent with age and utilitarian use; no visible restorations.
