Lost-Wax Bronze Couple, West Africa, mid-20th century - Elongated bronze sculpture of a standing couple, cast in one piece using the traditional lost-wax method. The man and woman are rendered with graceful attenuated limbs and finely incised surface details typical of the Baule and Dogon styles of West Africa, symbolizing unity and the bond between partners. The piece stands on an integral rectangular base and exhibits a warm golden patina with light verdigris highlights. 12¼ in. H, 3 in. W, 3 in. D. Condition: Excellent overall with minor surface oxidation and natural age patina.
