Polychrome Carved Wooden Offering Bowl, East Africa, mid-20th century - Carved and painted wooden footed bowl with broad rounded body and raised base, decorated with incised spiral and linear patterns highlighted in red, yellow, and black pigments. Such bowls were traditionally used for serving food or as offering vessels in Ethiopian or Kenyan households and ceremonial contexts. The interior shows natural use wear, and the exterior retains much of the original polychrome finish. Approximately 7½ in. high, 8½ in. diameter. Condition: Moderate surface wear, scattered pigment losses, and minor interior abrasions consistent with age and traditional use.
