Large Mossi Tribal Mask with Standing Figure, Burkina Faso, Early–Mid 20th Century - Impressive carved wood mask surmounted by a full-length standing male figure, the elongated oval face carved with raised central ridge and circular pierced eyes, characteristic of Mossi ceremonial masks from Burkina Faso. The figure above, rendered with attenuated limbs and incised detailing, represents an ancestral or protective spirit. Retains traces of original pigment with age-darkened patina throughout. 35 in. H, 8.5 in. W, 8 in. D Condition: Stable age cracks, edge wear, and surface losses consistent with tribal use and age.
