Large Ashanti Akua’ba Fertility Figure, Ghana, Early to Mid-20th Century - Carved wooden Akua’ba figure of traditional disc-shaped head form with linear incised facial features and stylized torso, raised on a custom black museum base. The flat circular face, with delicate raised brow line and small projecting nose, symbolizes beauty and fertility ideals in Akan culture. Traces of red-brown pigment and ritual handling patina are visible throughout, particularly around the head and torso.
