Benin-Style Bronze Head, Nigeria, 20th Century - A finely cast bronze head inspired by the royal portraiture of the Benin Kingdom, featuring a tall, lattice-patterned conical headdress and intricately detailed facial scarification. The neck is encircled by a series of rings representing coral regalia, and the base is ornamented with geometric motifs. Dark copper-brown patina with traces of verdigris. Approx. 11 in. H, 4½ in. W. Condition: Minor casting flaws and surface pitting; small losses consistent with age; good patina overall.
