Set of Four Louis XV Style Caned Side Chairs, 20th century - Attractive set of four carved walnut side chairs in the Louis XV taste, each featuring a caned back with molded serpentine crest rail centered by a floral and foliate carving. The shaped seat frames rest on cabriole legs ending in scroll toes, fitted with later upholstered seats in a soft gold textured fabric. The chairs exhibit fine proportions and graceful curvature typical of French Rococo revival craftsmanship, ideal for dining or occasional use. Approximately 40 in. high, 21 in. wide, 19 in. deep. Condition: Light wear to finish and cane consistent with age; upholstery clean and serviceable.
