Early 18th-Century English Oak Press Cupboard, circa 1720–1750 - Handsome early Georgian English oak press cupboard of substantial scale, retaining a warm, centuries-old patina. The upper case fitted with three paneled cupboard doors, each carved with arched and molded gothic-style openings, above a lower bank of three drawers with later brass pulls. Constructed in oak throughout with pegged joinery, molded cornice, and original backboards. A fine example of early 18th-century vernacular English cabinetry with bold proportions and deep color. 78 in. H, 56 in. W, 19 in. D. Condition: Wear, marks, and age shrinkage typical of period oak; later hardware; old surface with rich patina; structurally sound.
