Early American Dome-Top Pine Blanket Chest, 19th Century - Early 19th century American dome-top pine blanket chest, constructed with dovetailed case and original hand-forged iron hinges. Retains its period lockplate and brass escutcheon, with remnants of early paper lining to the interior. The chest exhibits a rich, worn patina from generations of use, with a gently domed lid and molded base resting on integral block feet. 18½ in. H, 36 in. W, 15 in. D. Condition: Honest early surface with scattered scratches, stains, and wear; loss to interior lining paper; lid shows expected warping and shrinkage from age; structurally sound and displays well.
