Iron Safe, Early 20th Century - Early 20th century cast iron safe by Herring-Hall-Marvin Safe Co., Hamilton, Ohio, with hand-painted pinstriping and gilt lettering reading “Cummings Safe & Fixture Co., Selling Agents, St. Louis, Mo.” Fitted with an original Yale combination dial and lever handle, resting on four shaped cast iron wheels. Includes the combination. A heavy and impressive piece of early American industrial craftsmanship. 34 in. H, 23 in. W, 22 in. D. Condition: Retains original black painted surface with expected wear, oxidation, and minor losses to decorative paint; combination included but locking mechanism untested; wheels functional. Overall presents well for age.
