Set of 11 Chippendale-Style Mahogany Dining Chairs, 20th Century - A substantial set of 11 carved mahogany Chippendale-style dining chairs, including two armchairs and nine side chairs. Each chair features an elaborately carved and pierced back splat with foliate and scroll motifs, molded crest rail with floral carvings, and cabriole legs terminating in bold ball-and-claw feet. The armchairs with gracefully scrolled arms ending in acanthus-carved handholds. Upholstered in rose moiré fabric over serpentine seats. Exhibiting high-quality hand carving and dense mahogany construction, likely by Baker Furniture Co. or a comparable fine American maker, circa mid-20th century. Armchairs 42 in. H, 26 in. W, 22 in. D; side chairs 41 in. H, 22 in. W, 20 in. D. Condition: ery good overall with minor surface wear and small abrasions consistent with age; upholstery clean and tight with only light handling marks; structurally solid and well-matched throughout.
