Federal Inlaid Mahogany Chest of Drawers, Circa 1810–1820 - Elegant early 19th century Federal period chest of drawers in richly figured mahogany, possilby Virginia or North Carolina, fitted with four graduated drawers, each retaining oval brass pulls and lightwood diamond keyhole escutcheons. The chest features a simple molded edge top, shaped skirt, and splayed French feet, all exhibiting refined balance typical of Federal design. Secondary wood appears to be poplar and pine. 43 ½ in. H, 42 in. W, 19 in. D. Condition: Very good overall; minor surface scratches and small veneer imperfections from age; backboards show expected oxidation; drawers slide smoothly and construction remains tight and sturdy.
