American Classical Carved Mahogany Sofa - Elegant early Classical sofa in rich figured mahogany, the scrolled arms deeply carved with acanthus leaves and volutes terminating in floral rosettes. The sofa rests on boldly carved paw feet joined by leaf-carved returns. The back rail features a paneled mahogany veneer of exceptional grain and color. Upholstered in a fine woven silk damask in deep crimson, patterned with gold laurel wreaths and Napoleonic bees, lending both historical charm and striking visual appeal. A handsome example of American Empire craftsmanship blending robust carving with refined neoclassical form. Approximately 39 in. high, 85 in. wide, 23 in. deep.
