Southern Cherry Jackson Press or Server, Circa 1840 - Attractive mid-19th century Southern cherry Jackson Press or server, circa 1840. The rectangular case features a single dovetailed drawer above double paneled doors, raised on turned feet with a shaped apron. Constructed of solid cherry with poplar secondary wood, retaining its mellow, reddish-brown patina and original wooden knobs. The interior fitted with a fixed shelf. A fine example of regional craftsmanship with clean, Shaker-like lines and functional form. 45 in. H, 40 in. W, 21 in. D. Condition: Very good overall; expected surface wear and small marks; minor shrinkage and wear to drawer runners; retains good color and structural integrity.
