Southern Cherry and Tiger Maple Work Table, Circa 1840–1860 - Charming mid-19th-century Southern work or dressing table, circa 1840–1860, constructed of solid cherry with highly figured tiger maple drawer fronts. The rectangular top is supported over two graduated drawers fitted with original turned wooden knobs and raised on finely turned legs with ring accents. Displays a warm, mellow surface and attractive color contrast between the cherry and curly maple. 30 ½ in. H, 24 in. W, 18 in. D. Condition: Very good overall; minor age wear and small marks consistent with use; retains warm original finish and fine patina.
