Southern Pine Early Stepback Cupboard in Old Salmon Paint, Mid-19th Century - A handsome Southern pine stepback cupboard retaining a wonderful dry, old salmon-colored paint, mid-19th century. The press features a stepped-back form with a three-door glazed upper cabinet fitted with original wavy glass panes, over a generous work surface and three aligned drawers with early pulls. The lower section offers ample storage behind a pair of paneled doors, all resting on a straight bracket base consistent with regional shopwork. The interior showcases beadboard backing in untouched condition, adding warmth and authenticity to the piece. Strong, honest construction with pegged joinery and period hardware throughout. Approx. 79 in. H, 56 in. W, 20–21 in. D.
