American Cherry Work Table with Turned Legs, Circa 1840 - Handsome mid-19th century cherry work or writing table featuring a rectangular top over a single dovetailed drawer fitted with a turned wooden pull, supported on well-turned legs tapering to simple feet. Constructed of solid cherry with warm, even tone and good grain figure, showing refined proportions and understated Shaker influence. Likely Mid-Atlantic or Southern origin, circa 1840. 30 ½ in. H, 23 in. W, 18 in. D. Condition: Very good overall; minor age-expected surface wear and small marks; drawer slides smoothly and table is sturdy and well preserved.
