Southern Cherry Corner Cupboard, Early 19th Century - Handsome early 19th-century Southern cherry corner cupboard, displaying warm, mellowed surface and traditionally paneled doors throughout. The upper cabinet features double-paneled doors opening to deep triangular shelves, ideal for displaying china or glassware. Below, a matching pair of paneled lower doors reveals additional storage with two more triangular shelves. The cupboard is built in two parts, typical of early Southern forms, and retains its original simple bracket feet and molded cornice with a gently overhanging crown. Beautifully grained cherry boards on all visible surfaces give the piece an inviting, period-authentic presence. approx. 84 in. H, 48 in. W across the front, 31 in. D at deepest point. Condition: Good early condition; expected surface wear, staining on some shelves, scattered marks and age-appropriate shrinkage; one or two minor replaced hardware elements; structurally solid and ready for use.
