Southern Cherry Two-Drawer Work Table, Circa 1840–1860 - Mid-19th century Southern cherry two-drawer work or sewing table, circa 1840–1860. The rectangular top above two dovetailed drawers fitted with original turned pulls and inlaid diamond key escutcheons, raised on well-turned legs ending in ring-turned feet. Constructed of solid cherry with poplar secondary wood, showing mellow reddish tone and a pleasing, honest patina. A fine and functional example of regional craftsmanship. 30 in. H, 22 in. W, 18 in. D. Condition: Very good overall; minor age wear, light surface marks, and small veneer or finish irregularities consistent with age; retains strong color and tight joinery.
