Pair of Large Continental Hand-Painted Porcelain Mantel Vases, Late 19th Century - A striking pair of large Continental porcelain mantel vases, each richly hand-painted in vibrant palette with 18th-century courting scenes on one side and bold botanical florals on the reverse. The baluster forms rise to flared cobalt-blue necks adorned with raised gilt foliate ornament, flanked by scrolling gilt handles embellished with applied pink blossoms. The bases repeat the cobalt accents, visually grounding the composition. Beautifully detailed figural decoration in soft pastels brings the romantic scenes to life, creating strong display presence whether placed on a mantel, sideboard, or pier table. 20 in. H, 12, in. W.  Condition: One vase with a chip to the lower cobalt foot rim and a tight hairline as shown; otherwise both present well with expected minor wear to gilding.
