Continental Carved Oak Renaissance-Revival Server, Late 19th Century - A boldly carved Continental oak Renaissance-Revival server featuring a hinged lift-top compartment over a frieze decorated with deeply carved mask heads, floral sprays, and scrolling foliate motifs. The center and flanking drawer faces are each adorned with expressive lion-mask pulls, while the corners terminate in carved male and female classical busts. Below, two full-length open shelves provide excellent display or storage space. The server is raised on substantial barley-twist legs ending in turned feet, all retaining a warm, well-handled historic surface. The lift-top reveals two fitted divided storage compartments, making this an especially functional piece suitable for dining, entry, or library settings. 40 in. H, 48 in. W, 20 in.
