American Mahogany Banjo Wall Clock, 19th Century - Handsome American banjo-form wall clock in mahogany veneer, late 19th century, featuring a large circular painted iron dial with Roman numerals, original steel hands, and hinged bezel. The throat panel retains its reverse-painted eglomisé glass with gilt border surrounding the brass pendulum rod, while the lower box displays a matching eglomisé panel with gilt oval medallion. Interior includes brass pendulum, key, and original weight compartment. 41 in. H, 14 in. W, 4½ in. D. Condition: Wear consistent with age; losses and age darkening to reverse-painted glass; dial with scattered paint loss and typical surface wear; veneer with scattered nicks; clock is untested for running condition.
