Bidspirit auction | Pair of Victorian Carved Walnut

Pair of Victorian Carved Walnut Parlor Chairs, Late 19th Century - A handsome matched pair of Victorian parlor chairs featuring richly carved walnut frames in the Renaissance Revival taste. Each chair displays a rounded, balloon-back form with a deeply tufted medallion backrest, carved with fruit, foliage, and scroll ornament across the crest rail. The serpentine seat rail and cabriole legs add a graceful silhouette, complemented by carved volutes and shaped arm supports. The chairs are upholstered in a luxurious deep navy velvet that presents beautifully against the warm walnut finish. The pair offers generous seating proportions while retaining the refined elegance typical of late-19th-century parlor furniture. Dimensions: approx. 45 in. H, 26 in. W, 24 in. D. Condition: Frames sturdy; some finish wear and small chips to both arm terminals as shown in photos; upholstery in very good usable condition with light wear; expected minor surface marks from age and handling. Overall attractive presentation.
