Sevres-Style Hand-Painted Porcelain Urn with Gilt Bronze Mounts - A finely executed Sevres-style porcelain urn of elegant baluster form, hand-painted with a romantic pastoral scene of a courting couple in 18th century dress, the reverse with a soft landscape vignette. The body is mounted with ornate gilt bronze scrolling handles and fitted with a decorative gilt metal cover. The neck and foot are richly enameled in turquoise, red, and gilt foliate designs in the French taste. Raised on a shaped gilt metal base. 14 in. H, 4 in. W Condition: Very good overall condition. No visible chips or cracks noted in porcelain. Gilt mounts with light wear consistent with age.
