Pair of French Art Nouveau Bronze Figures by Julien Caussé (1869–1938) - A refined and expressive pair of French Art Nouveau bronze figural sculptures by Julien Caussé (1869–1938), depicting two allegorical maidens in flowing classical drapery, each holding delicate floral elements. The figures are elegantly modeled with graceful contrapposto stance, sensitively rendered facial features, and richly detailed hair adorned with blossoms. The drapery clings and moves fluidly across the form in the characteristic Art Nouveau aesthetic, emphasizing both movement and naturalism. Each figure stands upon a naturalistic terrace base signed “J. Caussé, ” and is mounted to a turned black plinth. The modeling, surface articulation, and warm brown patina with gilt-highlighted accents are consistent with late 19th to early 20th century French casting. 16 in. H, 6 in. diameter (base).16 in.
