Continental Inlaid Display Cabinet / Sideboard with Mirror Back - An elaborate two-part display cabinet featuring a serpentine-front lower case and an architectural mirrored superstructure. The upper section is centered by a shaped mirror plate beneath a scrolling pediment with carved shell cresting, flanked by glazed display compartments supported by turned columns and arched openings with pierced gallery rails above. The lower section offers a bowed central double-door cupboard flanked by single glazed doors and frieze drawers above, all raised on elegant cabriole legs joined by shaped undertiers. The entire surface is richly decorated with contrasting satinwood or fruitwood inlay on a darker ground, forming scrolling foliate arabesques, classical urns, and neoclassical motifs throughout. Mirrored panels in the side doors and the upper display compartments enhance depth and light. The form reflects the Belle Époque taste for revival styles blending Louis XV curves with neoclassical ornament. 84 in H, 60 in W, 20 in D. Condition: Excellent condition. Minor surface wear consistent with age and use. Some light finish rubbing and small veneer or inlay irregularities visible in photos. Mirror plates show typical age-related spotting.
