Classical Composite Figural Pedestal, Late 19th Century - A finely modeled late 19th-century classical pedestal, executed in molded composite material and richly ornamented throughout. Each pedestal is surmounted by a circular top above an elaborately carved Ionic-inspired capital with scrolling volutes, floral devices, and beaded detailing. The cylindrical shaft is decorated in high relief with classical figural scenes depicting semi-draped mythological figures amid floral swags, garlands, and textured ground, all executed with notable depth and sculptural quality. The pedestal rests on stepped circular bases embellished with acanthus scrollwork and repeating classical motifs, giving the pair strong architectural presence and visual weight. The surface exhibit an attractive, even aged patina consistent with late 19th-century decorative composite work. Closely matches Lot 51A. 32 in. H, 15 in. D. Condition: Good overall condition. Light surface wear, scattered minor chips, and age-related surface patination consistent with material and period. No major losses observed.
