Flame Mahogany Classical Pier Table, Pennsylvania School, likely Quervelle Tradition, mid-19th - A finely proportioned Classical pier table crafted in richly figured flame mahogany, attributed to the Pennsylvania/Philidelphia school and consistent with Quervelle-school cabinetmaking. The rectangular top features a bold gadrooned edge with deeply carved leaf-and-scroll molding, framing a well-matched mahogany surface displaying strong flame figure. The table is raised on substantial scrolled supports terminating in carved claw feet, joined by a shaped stretcher for added stability. The sculptural base, confident carving, and restrained classical ornament reflect the refined yet muscular aesthetic associated with southeastern Pennsylvania cabinetmakers. Retains an attractive surface with scattered wear consistent with age and use. 35.5 in. H, 40 in. W, 17.5 in. D Condition: Overall good/honest condition with typical wear consistent with age and use.
